Hi, I'm Karsta.
After seven years of working as a scientific researcher in public institutions, which included obtaining a PhD in Physics, I decided to focus on what I enjoy most - visually communicating scientific research.
I obtained a BSc in Physics in Germany, a MSc in Physics of Life and Health in the Netherlands and a PhD in Physics in France, published 4 peer-reviewed papers and gave multiple oral and poster presentations at international conferences.
I also spent two semesters studying Communication of Arts, Music and Media and four semesters of Biology.
I was fortunate enough to live and work in different countries (Germany, The Netherlands, Australia, France), which made me proficient in English and French, next to my mother tongue German.
My main research interest has always been to understand the mechanics of living things. As a result I have worked on different interdisciplinary topics including Biophysics, Hydrodynamics, Virology, Agronomy and Biomechanical Engineering and Life Sciences.
I have first-hand experience of the needs and requirements of communicating research. This, in combination with my broad knowledge in natural sciences, provides me with an adapted skill set to help you to level-up your visual research communication.
